Fishing Ability
Being a Box-Otter, I love to fish. I also love to watch others fish. I've noticed something interesting lately, but first allow me to define some terminology.
Self perception will be called Ot-perception. So the type of cook an otter thinks itself to be is called an Ot-cook. How good it thinks it is at cooking is Ot-cooking. By referring to Ot-cooking, I am not just referring to myself, but what all otters think of themselves.
The perception of someone else will be called Ter-perception. So when otter A watches otter B dance, otter A is forming an opinion of otter B's dancing, or Ter-dancing, whether either otter cares for it or not.
Box-Otters seem to be egotistical creatures, thinking about the world with respect to itself... but I have not yet met a creature that does not do so.
Here is my graph of how Ot-ability skews Ter-ability. Ot-ability, of course, is in a range, because we all have our sluggish days and carbohydrate-fueled rampages.
I find that Ter-Ability is most intensely skewed at two points: where it nears Ot-Ability, and where it's so far from Ot-Ability, that the Ter-Ability borders on idolatry.
Note this graph does not show where the Ter-ability most closely resembles actual ability... because I think that's different for different Box Otters. For some Box-Otters, the Ot-ability band could be the most accurate... but most likely not.
